- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white candy melts
- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
- Food coloring (red & blue)
- Red, white & blue sprinkles for decorating
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, whisk together cake mix, Greek yogurt, and water until a sticky batter forms. Separate into three bowls and dye one red, one blue, and leave one uncolored.
- 2. Pour into separate greased baking dishes. Bake 12-15 minutes, until cooked through but not browning. Cool completely and chill.
- 3. Crumble all cakes into a large bowl. Press 1-2 tablespoon portions into multicolored balls.
- 4. Insert a straw or cake pop stick into each ball. Chill for 1 hour.
- 5. Microwave candy melts and shortening until smooth. Dip each cake ball, spinning to coat. Sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles while wet.
- 6. Chill 30 minutes or until candy hardens. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use gluten-free cake mix if needed.
- Add vanilla or almond extract for extra flavor.
- Store covered in fridge up to 1 week or freeze up to 1 month.
